Sports day encourages young ones to stay healthy. It helps improve cardiovascular fitness. DPS aims to
create opportunity to encourage all littles minds to be enthusiastic about sports. Getting the kids
involved in sports at a young age can make them healthier and happier.
As a part of children’s Day celebrations, a kinder sports day was held on 15h November 2023, the tiny
tots of KG1 celebrated “Kinder Sports” with music, fun and frolic. The KG1s came in different coloured
T-shirt which made them look vibrant. They were taken to the greenfield where challenging sport races
were conducted, and all the children will participate in the same. The races were as follows.
1.Obstacle race
Children learnt about taking turns, communicating, and listening for instructions through the obstacle
course play. Completing the course from start to finish was a terrific way to boost confidence. The race
involved maneuvering through cones in a zigzag pattern and jumping through hula hoops, with the aim of
reaching the finish line.
2.Cap the Cone race
The objective of this race was tiny tots to cap a cone with a floor cone as quickly as possible. It was
a fun and energetic race that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
The little ones cheered for each other with pom poms. They encouraged each other showing the true spirit
of teamwork and being active. The highlight of the day was the Move and Freeze race whereby all little
ones grooved according to the song and unfreeze for their medals. There was a sense of pride and
achievement among the little ones on receiving medals.
To add onto the sporting spirit, teachers also participated in races and the little ones cheered
enthusiastically for their teachers.
The young dipsites understood that the essence of participation is of greater significance than victory.
Furthermore, they demonstrated their affection for teamwork and grow a passion for sports which will
have a deep impact on their lives.
